Aeon Mark Installation 5th October 2023

Since Aeon Mark Lodge moved to Chorley, following the demise of Wellington Park, they have held their meetings by dispensation of the 1st Thursday on the Month rather than the 3rd Thursday. So, on Thursday the 5th October. The members descended on the Masonic Hall with one purpose in mind.

The October meeting is the Installation Meeting and the DC Jim Hustler and ADC Stewart Seddon had assembled the team to carry out the task.  Once the room was prepared, the lodge was opened by the Master Terry Ward and dispensations read by our ever-attentive Secretary Chris Wild.

Our Principal Guest, V.W.Bro. John Waring PGJO was welcomed and the administrative issues were discharged which included the presentation of a Cheque for £500 in favour of the Mark Masonic Charities.

The Installing Officers were appointed, me as Senior Warden, Henry Mayor as Junior Warden and Edwin Schofield as Inner Guard.
Chis Wild - Secretary, Mike Pinckard - Prov Sec, John Waring Representative,
Dave Bishop Master & Terry Ward IPM
Dave Robinson, Special Representative, Dave Coulson SW and Jim Wynne JW
Stewart Seddon presented the Master Elect, Bro. Dave Bishop, to the Installing Master Terry Ward who then took us through the Installation meeting in a measured and efficient way.

It wasn’t long before the officers were being invested, which includes Dave Coulson as Senior Warden and Jim Wynee as Junior Warden.

We were soon winding down the proceedings which included the mention of three candidates for advancement, and the Lodge was closed.

The room was cleared down and we were off to the bar in readiness for our Festive Board of Mushroom Pepper Pot, Roast Chicken Dinner and Crème Caramel, during which there was a pleasant buzz of convivial conversation around the tables.

Speeches were short and in no time at all we tipped out into the cool night air on our way home.
Thank you Aeon Mark for another night embracing the ‘Magic of the Mark’.
